In 2007, the world observed the 400th anniversary of the landing at Historic Jamestown -- a place and time where the cultures of North America, Europe, and Africa first converged, initiating and testing the unique values that gave birth to a new nation: exploration, free enterprise, representative government, private land ownership, diversity and adaptation. Through extensive archaeological excavation and research, there are new answers to the question: What does it mean to be an American? Come visit our enhanced facilities, exhibits, and public programs which connect the public directly to the more than 2,000,000 artifacts and new knowledge about the lives and times of the creators of this nation.
